CORE GROUPS

The core is the most essential part of a thing. In regards to the human body, the core are the muscles of the torso. Having a strong core helps prevent falls and stabilizes your body. In the same way, your spiritual core stabilizes your faith. It enables you to mature as a believer and stay spiritually healthy.

To aid in the development of your spiritual core, you are encouraged to choose 1-4 other people to meet with weekly. The one hour meeting will be spent discussing the assigned 5 chapters from the New Testament that all members will have read the previous week. There will also be a short time for prayer, reciting the assigned memory verses and time for encouraging each other in your struggles and walk of faith.

Core Groups meet for 12-18 months. Then, you disband. Each member who is willing can then form a new group, inviting new people in. The goal is to multiply, not to stay in your same group year after year.

These small groups are NOT a replacement for Sunday School. Core group members also need the fellowship and teaching they experience in their Sunday School classes. Core groups simply serve a different, more focused purpose.

Simply click on the other tabs in this section to learn more about Core Groups. You can also download or print out the Bible Reading Plan to use in your group. Printed copies of the plan are also available at the church.

Your Core Group can be started whenever you and your members are ready to start. Please let Phillip or the church office know when you begin a group and who your members are so that the staff can be praying for your group.

There is nothing more important than hearing God speak through His Word. Being a part of a Core Group will encourage you to continue to faithfully read the Bible. It will also help you get to know others as you meet together.

We are, after all, "better together."
