SHUT IN/VISITATION TEAM: 6:30 - 7:45 PM on Wednesday nights. Meet in the Fellowship Hall (Vicki Danford)
I saw an article on Facebook this week that really struck me on how we should pray for our Church. It said that we should strive for our Church not to simply be a religious organization to which people belong, but we should pray to have a burning desire to bring light and encouragement to our community, and thus bring Glory to God.
We are getting started on taking that light and encouragement to some folks who need it. Everyone is invited to come out each Wednesday evening at 6:30 to team up and visit some of our homebound and nursing home members, our sick, our friends, family and neighbors or just anyone that needs some cheering up. If you are unable to go out and visit, we also have a team that is writing and sending out encouraging notes and cards. You can contact Vicki Danford 919-815-3694 withany questions.

We will be collecting items for Appalachian Christmas Outreach during Vacation Bible School:
Here's a little information about this wonderful ministry:
The Appalachian Coalfields Ministry, sponsored by North Carolina Baptists on Mission, seeks to meet physical and spiritual needs of people living in the Appalachian Area. Working with scores of ministry centers and small churches in five Appalachian states, we help mobilize volunteers and resources to meet needs. One of the greatest ministry needs in this area occurs around Christmastime. NCBM is calling on churches statewide to respond to this need through Appalachian Christmas Outreach 2019. Our goal is to collect 16,000 backpacks of items to be distributed to Appalachian children in areas of need in December 2019. Statewide collection date will be Saturday, November 2. Collection areas will be set up across the state for churches to bring their backpacks.
We will be collecting the following items during VBS:
Pop-Top canned food items, such as: ravioli, tuna, chicken, beef stew, and fruits and vegetables.
FULL SIZED hygiene items, such as: toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, deodorant, washcloth, brush and/or comb.
