God is truly blessing the Outreach Ministry of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. There are so many ways in which this church reaches out to the lonely, the needy, the helpless, the hopeless, the Lost and the Saved. Our staff is most involved in the outreach ministry of the church as well as our Deacons, Sunday School Teachers, Committee Leaders, Mother's Morning Out staff, our "ROC" - Recreational Outreach Commitment ministry Volunteer Host as well as our newly developed OUTREACH TEAM. It is our desire to be "a city on a hill" for the Glory of God. The church exists for one particular group.....the uncharted. Of course, there has to be ministry to the churched, to train, equip and inspire others to do the work, but our purpose is "To Know Christ and to make Him known".

It’s Christmas in August!!

Please help the PGBC Youth collect items for the Appalachian Christmas Outreach 2019. We need girls & boys items on the list below. We will collect these items through August. Please turn in all donations by August 31 in order to pack the bags. You can drop items off in the Acteens room across from Mary’s office or in the bins located in the vestibule and Family Life Center.

a) Small items of NEW items such as, gloves, socks, underwear, scarves, etc.
b) Small pop-top canned food such as ravioli, tuna, beef stew, vegetables, fruit
c) At least one NEW, age appropriate non-breakable toy (no toy weapons, please!) This can include small cars, balls, dolls, small stuffed animals, yo-yos, jump rope, sidewalk chalk, card games, Legos, etc.
***For oldest age group (15-17) substitute an appropriate item instead of a toy,
such as, a flashlight, small thermos, light blanket, books, hunting and fishing
magazines for the boys - jewelry, books, skin care products, hair accessories, etc.
d) Full Size Hygiene items: toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, washcloth, brush or

APPALACHIAN CHRISTMAS OUTREACH. Here's a little information about this wonderful ministry:
The Appalachian Coalfields Ministry, sponsored by North Carolina Baptists on Mission, seeks to meet physical and spiritual needs of people living in the Appalachian Area. Working with scores of ministry centers and small churches in five Appalachian states, we help mobilize volunteers and resources to meet needs. One of the greatest ministry needs in this area occurs around Christmastime. NCBM is calling on churches statewide to respond to this need through Appalachian Christmas Outreach 2019. Our goal is to collect 16,000 backpacks of items to be distributed to Appalachian children in areas of need in December 2019.
