All Things New

We can purchase expensive things that we never use. Suppose I purchase a top-of-the-line bass boat with a radar system that tells me what type of fish is below and how much it weighs? Suppose it has a 250-horsepower engine that gets me to fishing spots in seconds. Suppose I park it in my garage. When I feel the urge to go fishing, I grab my kayak. “The bass boat is just too expensive and nice to get dirty”, I say. What a waste! That boat needs to be on the water, doing what it was built for.
As believers of Jesus, we can do something similar with our salvation. Jesus has taken away our sin and made us pure and holy before His Father. He has taken up residence in our lives and is ready to empower us to do good as He did. Yet we often sit back and do nothing in regards to obeying and serving Him. Perhaps we are too scared to try for fear of failure. Or perhaps we fail to act out of fear that He will not act on our behalf. Our inactivity is an insult to His presence in our lives.
We have been made a new creation in Jesus so that we may do His work and speak His truth to those around us. He is ever ready to empower us to do it. Trust Him to supply what you need. Trust Him to work through you to do good and to proclaim the good news of the gospel to those in your circle of influence.
